Scarface Lion: Last Photos and Videos

The legendary Scarface, one of Africa's most famous lions, left an indelible mark on wildlife enthusiasts worldwide. Known for his battle-scarred face and dominant presence, Scarface ruled the Maasai Mara for years before age and rival males took their toll.

This is one of our favourite male lions - Scarface of the 4 Musketeers - mating with a young female on Paradise Plains. Scarface’s tongue tells a story in itself - notice how torn and notched it is from old injuries inflicted during fights over territory and females. The young female looks so calm by contrast to the open-mouthed growl of Scarface.
