This is one of our favourite male lions - Scarface of the 4 Musketeers - mating with a young female on Paradise Plains. Scarface’s tongue tells a story in itself - notice how torn and notched it is from old injuries inflicted during fights over territory and females. The young female looks so calm by contrast to the open-mouthed growl of Scarface.

Scarface Lion from July 2011. He had just got this wound when in Masai Mara on Battle field

Scarface killed a young hippo on his own and if he is capable of doing so I don't see why many people have so much sympathy on the king live such a good life, he may be limping but he is still very strong and love the Cubs and his females
